Who We Are – Supply to Succeed is a student-led nonprofit, but our mission extends far beyond being students ourselves. We are young adults who care. We are people who believe that where someone is born should not determine the opportunities, resources, or future available to them. We are working to help close the resource gap between developing and developed communities because we believe every child is bright and full of promise and potential that can help shape the future of our world. A lack of basic resources should never limit the gifts someone possesses. Supply to Succeed collects new and gently used educational supplies, along with appropriate healthcare supplies, from communities throughout the Midwest and works with trusted partners to distribute them to underserved communities where these resources can make a meaningful difference.

Why It Matters – Imagine being a student eager to learn but not having a notebook of your own. Imagine sharing a single textbook with two or three classmates because your school simply does not have enough. These circumstances should never determine how much a student is able to learn or how far their potential can take them. Access to notebooks, books, writing materials, and other classroom resources gives students more of the tools they need to develop their education and pursue the potential they already possess. Investing in students can ultimately mean investing in stronger families, communities, and future generations. The same principle extends to healthcare. Something that may seem ordinary to us—a box of bandages, basic hygiene materials, protective equipment, mobility aids, or other essential medical supplies—can be much more meaningful in a community where those resources are scarce. Healthcare workers should have access to the tools necessary to care for their communities, just as students should have access to the tools necessary to learn. Resources that may be easily accessible in one part of the world can represent opportunity, dignity, education, and better care somewhere else.

Why Support Supply to Succeed? – Imagine if it were your child, sibling, friend, or family member sitting in that classroom or seeking care in that community. Most of us would want someone, somewhere, to care enough to help. We believe compassion should extend beyond the people and problems we encounter in our everyday lives. An issue does not have to directly affect us for us to recognize that we have an opportunity to make a difference. And making that difference does not always require something extraordinary. An old novel you read in high school and no longer use could inspire an entire group of students. The extra notebooks left over from back-to-school shopping could give another student materials they otherwise would not have. Educational supplies sitting untouched in a dorm, closet, basement, or garage could become tools for someone else’s future. The same can be true of appropriate unused healthcare resources that organizations and communities may have available to contribute.

What We Are Asking From You – We are asking you to share our compassion and become part of this mission. Look around your home, dorm room, classroom, office, church, workplace, or even those old boxes in the garage. Consider what you have that is still usable but no longer serving a purpose in your life. Donate supplies. Host a collection. Volunteer your time. Share our mission with your community. Connect us with a school, church, healthcare organization, business, or individual who may want to help. Something small to you could create an array of opportunities for someone else. Supply to Succeed is not asking everyone to change the world alone. We are asking people to recognize what they already have, contribute what they can, and allow us to work together to put those resources into the hands of people who can use them. Because a notebook should never stand between a student and an education. A lack of basic supplies should never stand between a healthcare worker and their ability to serve. And where someone is born should never determine the limits of what they can become. Together, we can turn unused resources into opportunity.
